This stylish home away from home is the perfect countryside escape, just over an hour from Melbourne and five minutes from Kyneton. A comfortable country escape with a Mediterranean twist by Ana Letina Design, this welcoming and calm home will see you transported. Olive green walls, splashes of colour, and foliage make you feel you have found your country oasis of calm and tranquillity.
Relax by the wood fire or luxuriate in one of the cloud-like beds with a book and cup of tea, enjoying the country vistas. There is a fully equipped, open-plan kitchen, living area and games room for the kids. A separate formal dining room provides the ideal setting for families and friends to come together.
If you are feeling adventurous, the cottage is minutes away from all the spoils of Kyneton, one of Victoria's most charming goldfield towns. No gold was found here but Kyneyon became famed as a service town providing hospitality to travellers. There are many fabulous wining and dining in Kyneton and no shortage of excellent wineries. The property is close to two nature reserves, Black Hill and Bald Hill where dogs are welcome on leads. This house is perfect for an escape with friends or family. For sleeping, LOLA has four bedrooms, three with queen beds and one with a single bed, accommodating seven guests. The main bedroom has an ensuite and a shared bathroom for the remaining bedrooms. The house has a split heating and cooling system and an open fire.
For longer stays, there is a handy laundry and the house is less than five minutes to Kyneton where there are two supermarkets; Watts Fresh for all your fruit and vegetables; and Hardwicks and the Kyneton Fishmonger for meat and fish.
Outside is plenty of space to breathe in the country air and a fire pit with outdoor seating. Check the cupboard for marshmallows and bring your own stories. Please note, that young children will need to be supervised at all times around the dams. Pooches are welcome by arrangement but the property is not fully fenced and we ask that you check if your dog will be a suitable guest first.
Guests have private access to the entire property. We ask that you be respectful of the neighbours. Flophouse respects your privacy but we are on hand if you have any queries or need additional help.
Given there are two dams on the property and it is not fully fenced LOLA’s is not suitable for children under the age of 12 or dogs that may wander onto the road or neighbouring properties.
From 1851, Kyneton was part of the goldfields explosion, became a service town for the region, and has long been known for its hospitality. It has also become known for fine dining and artisan shopping in recent years. If you feel like adventuring beyond Kyneton, there are many walks to explore, wineries and European gardens. We respect and acknowledge the vital role of the Taungurung people, who are local custodians of the area where Botanical Cottage is located. Botanical Cottage is within walking distance of some of Regional Victoria’s finest dining and cafe venues, boutiques and galleries. The seasonal beauty of the Campaspe River Walk is only minutes away.
Kyneton is part of Mount Macedon Shire, which sits over the lands of the Wurundjeri, Tangurung and Dja Dja Wurrung nations. As the traditional owners of the region, we respect and acknowledge the vital role of the local custodians of the region where Botanical House is located.
