Pink Cliffs Loop Walk - Heathcote (1.1km)

Walk - Pink Cliffs Geological Reserve

Length - 1.1km Loop Walk

Time to complete: approx. 30 min

Pink Cliffs is so named because of the pinkish hued rock formations left behind from sluice mining during the gold rush era. It is free to access the site and walk around. To access the site is free and it is easily signposted from Heathcote. It is a beautiful, if slightly eerie crater like landscape that is well worth exploring. The rock, which is actually powdery clay, changes colour depending on the time you visit. The picture selected was taken at dusk. Whilst in Heathcote a pitstop into Palling Bros Craft Brewery is a must!

If you are coming from Kyneton, the drive through granite country via Tooborac is spectacular. If you have time stop in at the heritage listed Tooborac Brewery & Hotel it is well worth it - house brewed beers in the former Cobb & Co station and fantastic pies made in the bakery next door. The rabbit is our favourite.
