The Goldfields Track Walk Series - Part Two (12.2km)

Walk - Creswick to Slaty Creek Picnic & Campground One via Blue Waters

Length - 12.2km round trip

Time to complete: 2hr 34 minutes

Starting in the very pretty town of Creswick we fuelled up at the  Le Peche Gourmand Bakery, a must do even if you aren't walking, we walked to Slaty Creek picnic ground and back. Along the way we passed "Blue Waters" an eerie blue lagoon caused by mining in the gold rush days. The rest of the walk was through scrubby gums and ended at a Slaty Creek Campground One, that includes a picnic area. It was fairly well populated for a Tuesday. This walk was an easy stroll without many hills and it would be great to make it an an overnight adventure before returning to Creswick. Upon our return we had dinner and a pale ale at the Farmer's Arms, an excellent way to finish the walk!
